The following is a fractal nebula, created by constructing an IFS of Foci and linear transforms in a linear vector space. It recreates the Butterfly Nebula (NGC 6302) as seen by the Hubble telescope in 2009.

The nebula was colored according to the same methods that NASA artists use to enhance the images captured by the telescope.
