Xiaoqi Long

Since the construction of two gleaming palaces in classical physics, Newtonian mechanics and Maxwell electricity and magnetism, determinism had rule the academic world of physics. Just like how pool players can determine the trajectory of the ball starting from the moment they hit it, physicists believed that the physical state of every moment of the universe can be determined by the initial parameters. This theory was overturned by the introduction of quantum physics, where uncertainty is introduced and the physical state is described in probabilities. This principle threw the previous orderly world of physics into a beautiful chaos.
This painting is a juxtaposition of the predictable, certain 'pool game' and the free, uncertain 'quantum dance'.
