The Multi Worlds Interpretation claims that the world is split into two (or more) with every observation made.

This painting depicts how projections of objects from higher dimensions to lower dimensions can create different lower-dimension worlds. The ‘real’ world is the superposition of the state vector of all split-up sub-worlds, and we can only feel the shadow of that world in our sub-worlds. We are the ghosts of our parallel possibilities.
