CS14-10309 Volume rendering of a Carnegie Stage 14 (gestational age of about 4 week) human embryo imaged with 11.7 T MRI at the Biological Imaging Center (BIC). The image was collected demonstrate BIC's capabilities for non-destructive imaging of human embryos. These visualizations required masking the embryo image from the media. Different color and transparency maps and lighting model were applied to image data to reveal different aspects of the embryonic form. The embryo is from the Carnegie Collection at the National Museum of Medicine. µMRI was performed by Russell Jacobs, visualization by Seth Ruffins.
