PMA

A large gold-coated bubble brings smaller gold-coated microbubbles into focus. These bubbles form as a result of poor adhesion between a sputtered gold layer and a flat silicon substrate. The gold layer is too thin for plasmon resonance to give its characteristic color and hence remains a silvery-gray. Medium: Gold on Silicon, Light Microscope,Laboratory of Interfacial & Small Scale Transport.
