This piece uses dye visualizations (falsely colored) of a nozzle generating a train of vortex rings in a fluid, seen as the "mushroom-like" structures downstream of the nozzle. These vortex rings were formed using a passive vortex generator attached to an autonomous underwater vehicle. The conditions from top to bottom were formed using increasing throttle settings of the autonomous underwater vehicle and illustrate the variety of vortex rings that can be created.
